This release refreshes the Anthropic line-up: the Claude 5 generation replaces the 4.x models as the default choice.- [NEW] Claude Opus 5 — Anthropic’s most advanced model, for the most demanding reasoning, analysis and long-context work. Handles roughly 1M tokens of context (about 2,000 pages) in a single conversation.
- [NEW] Claude Sonnet 5 — near-Opus quality at Sonnet’s speed and cost, with the same 1M token context. The everyday choice for drafting, reviewing and synthesizing across documents.
- [IMPROVED] Claude models now run on EU-based infrastructure, so requests stay within Europe.
- [CHANGED] Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Claude Opus 4.7 moved to Legacy Models in the model picker. They still work and remain selectable — use them if you have prompts tuned to their output — but Sonnet 5 and Opus 5 are the recommended replacements.
- [REMOVED] Claude 4 Sonnet is no longer available. Claude Sonnet 5 supersedes it, with far more context (1M vs 150K tokens) and better quality across the board.
